I'm majorly crushing on this lampshade. Can you believe that they made it themselves... out of yarn? I'm beyond impressed (and wondering if our diy skills could handle this project).

Pink + Gray = Love

I'm so inspired by these photos from Design*Sponge's Sneak Peek of Marijke Hukema's home.

Although it's all stunning, I'm particularly fond of the beautiful combination of light pink and gray (oh, and those gorgeous floors). Definitely filing these away in case K ever lets me decorate completely on my own...

Mapping the Course

One of my favorite internet searches recently has been of vintage maps on Etsy.

It turns out that there are tons of great options on there for well under $20. I think a single map would be nice on it's own, but currently I'm imagining a wall filled with all sorts of framed maps.

In my searches I also came across this gem, which is just so funny. From the not-drawn-to-scale guns to the fact that it came from a book on heredity and genetics, I think it'd make quite the conversation piece.

Brightly Colored Rugs Get an A+

A few weeks ago Grace from Design*Sponge tweeted about these gorgeous rugs from Madeline Weinrib, and I haven't been able to get them out of my mind since. The ones below combine some of my favorite design elements: liberal use of pattern, the combination of pink and orange, and multiple shades of pink.

I typically like really neutral spaces accented with bright colors (pinks, yellows, and greens in particular), so these rugs fit into my aesthetic pretty perfectly. They come in a range sizes, but I think even the smallest would go a long way in adding a fun pop of color to virtually any space. If only they weren't quite as pricey as I'm assuming!

Have an Above-Average Weekend!

With the weather getting even warmer out here, I've been getting increasingly excited about the weekends.

My plans for the weekend are to spend time with friends (since our classes have just finished!), tend to our little herb garden, and make use of all of the greens (seriously, five different kinds) we got in this week's farm share box.

Oh, and repaint the bedroom! Since K and I are moving in together (temporarily for now, since I'm not sure where I'll find a job!), I've been given the okay to redecorate this space a bit. I've enlisted the help of some friends to spruce up the walls a bit, with crisp white trim and this shade from Behr.

My plan for the room is to have everything be fairly neutral with a few (very bright!) pops of color with the help of some accessories and furniture. I'll be sure to post updates once some progress has been made!

If I get extra ambitious, I may also refinish our nightstands, but that project may be overlooked so I can enjoy some rest and relaxation!
